The 4C Entity, LLC is pleased to announce that CPRM Specification, SD Memory Card Book, SD-SD Part, Revision 0.91 is now available. The new revision incorporates usage rules based on date and time, both of which were previously supported in the 4C Specification material for CPRM for SD-Audio revision 0.97. ABOUT US

The 4C Entity was formed in 1999 to address the interoperability challenge of sharing premium content among a wide range of digital devices.

4C Entity is the industry organization leading the development, adoption and promotion of interoperable technology solutions for the authorized sharing of premium content. 4C Entity technologies are critical to enabling users to easily shift copyright-protected content among devices built by multiple manufacturers. 4C Entity is working to provide consumers with flexible access to all forms of digital content, while ensuring that the content is high quality, easy to store and maintain, transferable to similar digital devices and copyright-holder friendly.

4C Entity has developed a solution: Content Protection for Recordable Media (CPRM) and Content Protection for Pre-recorded Media (CPPM). The CPRM/CPPM Specification defines a renewable cryptographic method for protecting entertainment content when recorded on removable and portable physical media including, but not limited to, DVD media and Flash memory.

4C Entity also created a comprehensive framework for unifying various content protection technologies. The Content Protection System Architecture (CPSA) was developed to integrate major existing content protection technologies from the personal computing and consumer electronics industries, as well as new technologies as they emerge in the years ahead. Click here to download a white paper on CPSA.

The CPSA framework can strengthen the overall content protection system, easing implementation burdens on developers, and applying a consistent set of guidelines to all content protection efforts. By promoting the development of a comprehensive, compatible content protection system, this architecture benefits content owners and providers, device manufacturers and above all consumers.
